Delivery of rock/concrete products

So that you don't fill out a check based on the amount of the quote that you received, please be aware that delivered amounts may vary +/- .75 yards according to how much is actually loaded into the dump truck.  When you receive the bill from the driver, the bill will reflect the actual (and exact) amount of yards that have been loaded into the dump truck.  This actual amount may vary from what you originally ordered by+/- .75 yards.
 
For example, you order 6 yards of 5/8" Minus Crushed Rock to be delivered from Joe's Landscaping Supplies.  When we load it into the dump truck, the truck may end up with slighlty more or less than 6 yards due to the large size of our loader bucket and the difficulty to measure exact amounts.  Because of this, you may get exactly 6 yards or 6.4 yards or even 5.8 yards.  

At the time of delivery, we will adjust your invoice to reflect the actual amount you received and you would pay for only that amount.  We know exactly how much has been loaded into the truck because we weigh the truck after we have loaded it. 

5/8" Minus Crushed Brick

This is actually crushed up brick and pink in color. It is a great decorative rock and can be used also for driveways and/or walkways because it also packs down.  It is 5/8" minus in size (like 5/8" Minus Crushed Rock) but since it is brick and brick is a softer material, there is proportionally a higher amount of smaller pieces.  This is a great material to use for specialty walkways etc.

1/4" Minus Crushed Rock

Sold by the cubic yard, this rock is recommended for applications where you want the rock to pack down.  This very small crushed aggregate is mostly used for specialty walkways or under pavers and stepping stones.  This size is hard to find too (at least if you call our competitors) so the price is a little higher than the standard 5/8" minus size.  Never fear, Joe has it in stock!

3/8" Crushed Rock "Chips"

Sold by the cubic yard, this rock contains no "minus" size material.  It is the same size as Pea Gravel (the size of a pea) and can be used for drainage applications or even as a topdressing on top of existing larger 5/8" Minus Crushed Rock to give your walkway a little pazaz!!

5/8" Minus Crushed Rock

Sold by the cubic yard, this rock is recommended for applications where you need the rock to pack down.  This is the most commonly sold crushed rock and typically used as a "top course" material.  It is perfect for driveways, filling in potholes, for walkways or for use as a compacting fill.  For a less expensive alternative to this product, see also our 5/8" Minus Crushed Concrete (below).

5/8" Minus Crushed Concrete

Sold by the cubic yard, 5/8" Minus Crushed Concrete is almost exactly the same as 5/8" Minus Crushed Rock both in how it looks and its applications.  It is used as a top course for driveways, walkways, and compacts down (+ great for potholes too).  The best part is that it is usually $3-5 cheaper per yard than 5/8" Minus Crushed Rock.  The downside is that we sometimes sell out of it!  Check us for availability. 

5/8" Crushed Rock "Chips"

Sold by the cubic yard, this rock is the same as the 5/8" Minus Crushed Rock described above but it contains no "Minus" size material.  This rock is also used for drainage applications.

1 1/4" Minus Crushed Rock

Sold by the cubic yard, this rock is recommended for applications where you need the rock to pack down.  1 1/4" Minus Crushed Rock is used for driveways and walkways and is considered a "base course" material because it is larger rock.  Note that the color of the rock can vary from all gray to different shades (as shown below).

2" Crushed Rock "Chips"

Sold by the cubic yard, this rock is used as a base for driveways and walkways and for wet area applications.  It contains no "minus" size material.

2"x4" Quarry Rock Spalls

Sold by the cubic yard, this rock is used to decorate areas, for small rock walls, as a base for driveways, for construction entrances and for wet area applications.  It contains no "minus" size material.

4"x8" Quarry Rock Spalls

Sold by the cubic yard, this rock is used to decorate areas, for small rock walls, as a base for driveways, for construction entrances and for wet area applications.  It contains no "minus" size material.
