2-Way Mix Topsoil (Lawn/Overseeding mix)

Great for new planting and lawns, light and fast draining and builds soil health. Also works well for mixing into high clay soils or very wet areas.

Content:

• Approximately 50% Compost screened to 7/16" and 50% Sand.

Uses:

• New Lawns - Recommended for installation of new lawn including hydro seeding, and raised beds.
• New Planting Areas - New planting areas perform well with Two-way Topsoil. Installed to a depth of 6-12 inches, Two-way Topsoil provides the organic matter and nutrients as well as the minerals and the soil new plants and bulbs need to get established.
• Landscaping - Improves poor quality native soil for landscaping purposes or can be used to increase grade level.
• Adds Nutrients - The sand provides necessary drainage and the compost provides organic matter, nutrients and microbial diversity.  The compost also releases nitrogen to plants.
• Reduces Water Consumption - Compost increases soil water holding capacity so that less irrigation is required.

3-Way Mix (All Purpose) Topsoil

Our 3-Way Mix is a great all-around basic topsoil and it is our most popular and biggest seller.  It has Sandy Loam Soil, Peat Moss and Garden Mulch mixed together and is excellent for seeding lawns, sod, flower beds, filling in holes or low areas etc.  It is just a great all-purpose soil that is good for just about anything. 

Processed through a 1/2" screen, the soil content is approximately 85% soil and 15% organic material.  We offer individual 1 cubic foot bags of steer manure ($4.95/bag) to add to the soil if you wish.  Just let us know and we can give it to you when you come and pick it up or we can add it to your order when we deliver to you.

5-Way Premium (Planting/Garden) Mix Topsoil

Our 5-Way Mix Premium Planting/Garden Mix Topsoil is great for lawns, vegetable gardens, container gardening etc.  It is excellent soil with some high powered Joe's Mojo Manure (but not enough to burn your grass), extra sand for good drainage and extra compost/mulch added for nutrients. 

 

5-Way Premium Mix Topsoil has the following ingredients: 60% Loam Soil, 5% Peat Moss, 10% Fine Sand (promotes good drainage), 10% Joe's Mojo Manure, and a 15% Compost/Mulch/Aged Sawdust mix.  Processed through a 1/2" screen, the total overall content is approximately 70% soil and 30% organic material. 

6-Way Supreme (Nursery) Mix Topsoil

Our 6-Way Supreme Nursery Mix is formulated by Joe and mixed on-site at a very reputable local nursery.  This topsoil mix is great for vegetable gardens and container gardening etc.  It is excellent soil and one of the best topsoils that we carry.  It has every ingrediant you need for the development and maturity of your plants so that they will grow up to become successful, productive members of their plant communities!

6-Way Supreme Nursery Mix has the following ingredients: Sandy Loam Soil, Cedar Grove Compost, Peat Moss, Fine Dark Mulch, Steer Manure, and Aged Sawdust.  Processed through a 1/2" screen, the soil content is approximately 75% soil and 25% organic material.

 

Cedar Grove Vegetable Garden Mix

A mix of 60% Cedar Grove compost (screened to 7/16"),  20% sand, 20% sandy loam.  Cedar Grove Vegetable Garden Mix is specifically designed for vegetable and herb gardens.

Joe's Northwest Potting Soil

(Note:  This is a special order product and available for delivery only.  Due to space limitations, it is not available for pick up at our landscape yard).

Joe's NW Potting Soil is a recycled coco and soil potting mix. The mix includes small fibers of coconut husk, perlite, and Joe's NW Compost.  In general, the best potting soil for many indoor plants (including some recently made legal) should have the characteristics of being “crumbly”.  A method to check for good potting soil texture is to pick up a handful of moist (not soggy) soil and give it a squeeze. It should barely stay together and have a spongy feel. Sandy soils will wash away over time and soils with clay will hold too much water.  The right texture will allow your roots to grow freely and allow water to drain through efficiently.  Big clumps of matter, stones, and over packed soil will work against the root systems of many different types of potted plants.  Please note, Joe's NW Potting Soil is a recycled product and may contain some small pieces of biodegradable material used as a liner for the soil containers prior to it becoming a bulk product for us.  This material does not harm plants or by any means the integrity of of the potting soil.  The screening process that we employ removes some pieces of this biodegradable material but not all.
