Sold by the cubic yard, this rock is used as a base for driveways and walkways and for wet area applications.  2″ Clean Crushed Rock Chips contain no “minus” size material.  It is often referred to as “Railroad Ballast” as it is used in between railroad ties and around railroad tracks for stability and drainage.  This rock is especially great if you have potholes and/or ruts to fill in or a muddy driveway or other area with water issues that you need to fill in and stabilize.

Delivered Amounts Information

So that you don’t fill out a check based on the amount of the quote that you received, please be aware that delivered amounts may vary +/- .75 yards according to how much is actually loaded into the dump truck.  When you receive the bill from the driver, the bill will reflect the actual (and exact) amount of yards that have been loaded into the dump truck.  This actual amount may vary from what you originally ordered by +/- .75 yards.

For example, you order 6 yards of 5/8″ Minus Crushed Rock to be delivered from Joe’s Landscaping Supplies.  When we load it into the dump truck, the truck may end up with slighlty more or less than 6 yards due to the large size of our loader bucket and the difficulty to measure exact amounts when the bucket scoops up the material.  Once it is loaded into the truck, we drive the truck onto a big scale that weighs it.  We subtract the truck weight from the total weight to determine the exact weight of the material that has been loaded.

We know that most rock and concrete materials are approximately 1.3 tons per yard.  So if you order 6 yards, you may get exactly 6 yards or 6.4 yards or even 5.8 yards.  It just depends on the scale weight.  We don’t don’t charge you any more or any less than what has been loaded in the truck so you can be assured that you are getting exactly what you are paying for!  Which we can’t say our competitors all do.  We are very honest and precise and will adjust your invoice to reflect the actual amount you received and you pay for only that amount!

The driver will inform you of the invoice total when he/she arrives at your address.  If we load the truck far enough in advance of when we deliver it to you, we may call or email you with the exact total so you can have payment ready.
