We have 4 dump trucks and 3 different sized trucks to fit every need. Note that unless you alert us when you get your quote that you need a particular size truck, we will choose the size truck used to deliver your order and base your price quote on that. The size truck we choose will not always match the size of your order since there may be efficiencies of using a particular sized truck that are independent of your order size.
If we change our truck assignments based on your need of a particular size truck (because you have space or weight limitations) there may be additional charges added to your order (but only if this causes us extra time and/or mileage to deliver your order). For example, if we have our largest truck (Joe Mama) making deliveries on a particular day, we may schedule the large truck for your order, even if your order is relatively small (1-5 yards). However, we try to accomodate your needs whenever possible.
Beware that all of our dump trucks are much heavier than an average vehicle! For example, a Ford Expedition SUV weighs approximately 6,300 lbs. Our 3 dump truck sizes weigh 10,300 lbs., 14,400 lbs., and 28,000 lbs……and that is when they are empty!
Our 4 dump trucks are built to hall heavy loads and to be sturdy (unlike standard pickup trucks or trailers). We’ve named our trucks too, according to their size.
Baby Joe/Baby Josie
Joe Junior
Joe Mama
About Baby Joe and Josie:
Hauls 5-7 yards of light material (ie. Bark, Cedar Play Chips) or 4-5 yards of heavy material (ie. 5/8″ Minus Crushed Rock, Topsoil)
Light weight (without any material in it): Approximate 10,300 lbs.
Licensed Gross Vehicle Weight: 24,000 lbs
The truck can haul approximately 13,700 pounds of material per load!
Truck length: 21 feet
Truck width 8.5 feet. However, we need a minimum of 10 feet of width to get the truck through an opening, such as a gate. Sometimes 10 feet is not even enough if the ground is not level or there is poor visibility.
Truck Height: 7.5 feet (without dump box raised)
When dump box is raised, it extends approximately 15 feet in the air. As a comparison, most utility wires, signage and bridge overhangs are required to be at least 14 feet above the street (so when the dump box is extended it is higher than most of these objects).
